Saturday, August 3 Try your hand at tasks in the 1846 Fort in exchange for a bit of grub. - 11am – 5pm Pen & Ink – Rowand House Being a Clerk in 1846 meant being responsible for accounting and contract writing. Join our Gentleman Clerk in Rowand House and try your hand at writing with pen and ink. - 11am – 5pm Fur Bale Carry – Boat Shed Labourers of the Hudson's Bay Company were strong men who often had to carry multiple bales of furs. Help carry bales to and from the York boat. - 12pm, 2pm and 4pm Tipi Setup – Cree Encampment Learn how to set up a tipi! - 11am – 5pm Window Larding – Fort Courtyard Join our country wives as they lard the raw hide windows. We will be serving samples of pemmican & roasted pea coffee! Sunday, August 4 Put your shoulder to the wheel on 1885 Street and gain a tasty reward. - 11am and 3pm Mountie Duties – North West Mounted Police Outpost Learn the skills needed for the lawman of the Northwest Territories such as boot and buttons polishing, patrolling, raiding and arresting. - 11am – 3:30pm Homestead Skills – Ottewell Homestead Learn some common farm skills needed to survive in 1885 like gardening and washing. - 12pm – 3pm The Surveyor's Apprentice – The Dominion Land Office Come test your skills as a Land Surveyor, the best way to measure the country! - 1pm – 3:30pm Metis Activities – Erasmus House/Trappers Tent Find out about the unique skills practiced by Canada's Metis People. Sample traditional switchel at Kenneth MacDonald House Limited supplies of Rabbit Stew will be available at Ottewell Homestead Monday, August 5 You'll have to hit on all sixes to get the denizens of 1905 and 1920 Street to share their cuisine. 1905 Street - 11am – 5pm Special Delivery – Business Block Edmonton did not have an official mail delivery system in 1905. Help residents deliver packages in exchange for pay! - 11am – 5pm Blue Monday – Tent City In 1905, laundry was still mainly done by hand. Help the residents of Tent City get their laundry done, and find out the reason laundry was only done on Mondays during that time period. - 12pm and 2pm Volunteer Fire Brigade – Fire Hall Edmonton's fire brigade was run by volunteers. Lend a hand and find out what it took to become a member of the brigade. - 1pm and 3pm Tent Inspection – Tent City What did it take to live in a tent in 1905 Edmonton? Join us to find out and help the tent inspector enforce the rules! Sample jellied duck, a typical leisure class meal at the Rutherford House Or try a typical working class meal!
