[title]ASSIST Taste of Heritage Festival 2023[desc]820 Saddleback Rd, Edmonton, AB T6J 4W4 Friday, July 28, 2023, 10am – 3pm ASISST Taste of Heritage Festival will be showcasing 15 countries: Afghanistan, India, Iran, Sudan, China, Vietnam, Japan, Ukraine, Pakistan, Nepal, Mexico, Chile, Venezuela, Colombia, and Hungary , providing tasting samples of ethnic food, coffees, teas and traditional non-alcoholic beverages of the world. This event will include performers and artists from some of those countries and a Heritage Fashion exhibition representing some traditional attires. ASSIST Taste of Heritage Festival will provide not only cultural, recreational benefits but will be a significant venue to showcase marginalized and underrepresented cultures in our vibrant City of Edmonton. ASSIST Taste of Heritage festival will expect to receive around 700 attendees. This event will provide a platform for participants to share their culture and traditions while empowering them in a safe space. Safety protocols will be in place to follow AHS guidelines. A portable hand sanitizer station will be placed at the entrance of the venue and access to washrooms will be provide in our two southwest locations. This event will be held outdoors in all green areas around the Schindler Hall (LINC) building and our SW ASSIST building providing plenty of space between each both. There will be free of charge Face painting for children, Henna, Catrina Face painting, and craft activities, such as Pysanky and Origami. This is a free event for the community. This is a celebration of diversity, inclusion and multiculturalism with aiming to bring community members together.
