Take in a concert instead of battling the traffic to drive home. Or drive into the city for an hour of music at 5 pm on any or all of six first Fridays of each of the coming months. From early music, classical and beyond, to improvisation and jazz, we present a variety of eclectic concerts to delight audiences. At the Friday, November 2nd Traffic Jam Concert, hear Josephine van Lier, cello and Marnie Giesbrecht, piano playing L v Beethoven: Sonata for Cello and Piano, Op. 69 in A Major. And hear Duo Majoya playing C Demarest: Fantasie for Organ and Piano, and D. Bédard: March for the Grande Suite for Organ and Piano. First Presbyterian Church has been given permission to sponsor a Congolese family from a Sudanese refugee camp in the new year. Admission to all the concerts is by donation, with proceeds going to the First Presbyterian Church Refuge Fund.
