Concordia University of Edmonton 7128 Ada Blvd NW (73 St. south of 112 Ave.) Saturday, March 10, 2018, 7:30 – 10pm [image: Latin Excursions - Festival City Winds Advanced Band & Guests] The Festival City Winds Advanced Band, under the direction of Artistic Director Wendy J. Grasdahl, invites you to Latin Excursions taking place on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 7:30PM in the Robert Tegler Centre, Concordia University of Edmonton (7128 Ada Boulevard – 73 St. south of 112 Ave.). The Advanced Band is pleased to welcome the Red Deer College Symphonic Winds, under the direction of conductors James Bicigo & Karen Gustafson, as its guests. The evening's programme will feature several pieces which will transport the audience to warmer Latin climes – a brief respite from the Edmonton winter – and cause involuntary movement of the feet. Experience the music of Spain with Fantasia on Lady of Spain, as well as Camille Saint-Saëns' Tarantelle (with soloists Val Sherman and Joyce Howdel) and Pas Redoublé. Get whisked away to South America with Johan de Meij's setting of Moisés Moliero's Joropo – a typical dance from Venezuela in 3/8 time, and enjoy several dances from Mexico. Come escape the Edmonton winter through music! Tickets for Latin Excursions are $12 for Adults and $5 for Children (12 & under), and can be purchased at the door.
