The Journey of the Magi

10209-123 Street, Edmonton Friday, January 6, 2017, 8 – 9pm Come and celebrate the 12th day of Christmas (Twelfth Night) and the beginning of Epiphany with a family friendly concert of poetry and brass music. The brass quintet consisting of Robin Doyon and Brian Sand, trumpets; Shamilla Ramnawaj, horn; Kathryn Macintosh, trombone; and Scott Whetham, tuba will be joined by narrator Gordon Drever. A very special piece on the program is John Harbison's Christmas Vespers. The text is taken from Matthew 2: 1-12, which tells of the journey of the Magi to Bethlehem to present their gifts to Jesus. The work is a very powerful musical depiction of the dramatic events. Admission by donation.
