Community Expert Series: Hand Sewing Basics

Monday, January 16, 2017, 7 – 8:30pm The days of stapling and taping your pant hems are finally over! In this 3-part series, you will learn basic stitches, skills like hemming and attaching a button, and simple embroidery. Then you'll bring it all together to make a beautiful hand-sewn flower. EPL Community Expert Sharon Williams has taught sewing at sewing machine shops, Continuing Education, and in her home to adults and children. She is excited to pass on her love of sewing at a place she loves – the library! Registration required. Registrants should plan to attend all 3 sessions Jan 9, Jan 16 & Jan 23. Maximum 6 participants. Supplies will be provided, but feel free to bring your own to customize your designs or repair clothing: Scissors, sewing needles, thread, felt squares, fabric, buttons, thimble, embroidery needles and floss, your clothing in need of repair Note: this program is for adults.
