Die-Nasty

Varscona Theatre (10329 - 83 Ave) Monday, November 25, 2013, 7:30 – 9:30pm Running weekly since 1991, Die-Nasty has featured some of Canada's top improvisors and such diverse settings as 1930's Hollywood, Ancient Rome, the Middle Ages, Prohibition-era Windy City, and Tennessee Williams New Orleans. This season, Die-Nasty sets its usual mix of love, betrayal, and intrigue against the backdrop of class-conscious Edwardian England, in the tradition of Upstairs, Downstairs and Downton Abbey. Over the years Die-Nasty has welcomed exciting special guests such as comedy legends Joe Flaherty (SCTV, Freaks and Geeks), Robin Duke (SCTV, SNL), Mark McKinney (Kids in the Hall, SNL), the NHL's Georges Laraque, and movie legend Mike Myers (SNL, Shrek, Austin Powers) to name a few. The company also counts among its cast alumni Ron Pederson (MADtv, Impromptu Splendor) and Nathan Fillion (Castle, Firefly). This 23rd season of Die-Nasty is directed by Cathleen Rootsaert and stars Dana Andersen, Matt Alden, Shannon Blanchet, Leona Brausen, Peter Brown, Belinda Cornish, Tom Edwards, Jason Hardwick, Jeff Haslam, Kory Mathewson, Mark Meer, Sheri Somerville, Davina Stewart, Stephanie Wolfe, and Donovan Workun, with technical wizardry by Brad Fischer and music by The Amazing Paul Morgan Donald.
