The Hunger Games

Based on the sci-fi novel of the same name by Suzanne Collins, this film was a box-office phenomenon when released earlier this year. Starring Jennifer Lawrence, the film takes place in a post-apocalyptic future where teenagers are forced to participate in the Hunger Games, an annual televised fight to the death. 142 minutes (2012) 14A Friday, November 9, 2:00pm

Breakfast at Tiffany's

Based on a novella of the same name by Truman Capote, this Blake Edwards directed film stars Audrey Hepburn in the memorable role of Holly Golightly, a naïve and eccentric socialite who becomes interested in a young man (George Peppard) who moves into her apartment building. Hepburn's performance of Mercer and Mancini's classic "Moon River" won an Oscar for best song. 115 minutes (1961) PG Friday, November 16, 2:00pm

My Week with Marilyn

Based on two books by Colin Clark, a former employee of Sir Laurence Olivier, this film focuses on the making of the 1957 film "The Prince and the Showgirl" which starred Olivier and Marilyn Monroe. Clark (played by Eddie Redmayne) was in charge of escorting Marilyn (played by Michelle Williams in an Oscar-nominated performance) around London for a week. Meryl Streep received an Oscar nomination for her portrayal of the boss from hell, fashion magazine editor Miranda Priestly. Clueless

Believe it or not, this film is loosely based on Jane Austen's "Emma", transformed to a Beverly Hills high school circa 1995.
